If we’re not around much over the next couple of weeks, it’s because we’re off enjoying the holidays with our loved ones. We hope you’re all doing the same. Have a glorious holiday season and we’ll see y’all next year for Season 35 of Austin City Limits!

Have a holly jolly Christmas
Monday, December 22nd, 2008 by ACL_BloggerCrowded House
Friday, December 12th, 2008 by ACL_BloggerI may have waxed rhapsodic about this weekend’s Crowded House show before, so I’ll be brief. It’s a great show, beautifully performed, a great mix of old and new material and a testament to the songwriting wonder of Neil Finn. Even if you’re not familiar with CH, or think you don’t like them, I recommend tuning in to this encore episode. It’s one of the best we’ve ever done, and I don’t say that lightly (especially after the incredible season we’ve had this year). Check it out if you haven’t before, and see it again if you have - you won’t be sorry.

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008 by Emily_BlogWhy are we taking a break in the middle of debuting our 34th season? The answer is simple: PBS winter pledge drives. During the month of December, almost all PBS stations replace regular programming with special pledge programming designed to raise money for their stations. As a result, many stations preempt episodes of Austin City Limits, which is why you may see Wayne Dyer or Suze Orman when you tune in to PBS in the next few weeks expecting to see Norah Jones or Crowded House.
So we’re waiting to debut more new episodes until the pledge drives and the holidays are over; we want everyone to have a chance to see these great shows. Don’t miss new episodes featuring the Foo Fighters, Manu Chao, Nick Lowe, The Swell Season, Drive-by Truckers, Ryan Bingham, Duffy and Sarah McLachlan. In the meantime, considering becoming a member of your local PBS station, it helps us continue to showcase these fantastic artists.
